Family Life

Welcome to the Family Life Ministry at Hope Chapel Huntington Beach!  We endeavor to help your entire family grow in their love for Jesus, each other, and the family of God.   We also want to equip our parents (married and solo) in their vital role as “parent-pastors” to their children, and support married couples in their ministry to one another.  To that end, we provide:

  • Childcare during church services for ages 0-3 in Noah’s Nursery and Toddler Town.
  • Childcare during all discipleship classes, weeknight mini-churches and special all-church events.
  • Children’s Chapel on Sunday mornings for preschool through 4th grade.
  • Club 56, which is exclusively for 5th and 6th graders on Sunday mornings.
  • Marriage enrichment through date nights, classes, workshops, and pre-marital counseling.
  • Family life enrichment through planned activities like summer camp, movie nights, and field trips.

Family Life

Hope Chapel wants to equip you in your important role as “parent-pastors” to your children. There is no way to overstate the importance of your spiritual influence as mom and dad in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven society. To that end, our Family Life ministry offers your family a variety of opportunities to grow in your love for Jesus and one another. For example:
  • A Family Life Library, complete with Christian parenting and marriage resources, and many Christian children’s books and DVD’s which you can borrow for 2 weeks at a time.
  • Summer field trips and outings.
  • Family Nights featuring family-friendly movies and popcorn, and game nights in The Reach;
  • Family Worship Sundays (2nd Sunday of every month) where your children remain with you during the worship songs to give you the chance to “parent in the pew”.
  • Backyard Bible Club and Summer Musical Camp (alternating summers) where your child can invite friends and neighbors to participate with our church family.
  • A weekly playgroup for moms and tots called Little Ones which runs on a public school-year schedule.

Marriage Ministry

Hope Chapel is passionate about marriage! We offer regular classes such as a 12-week series entitled, Love and Respect, workshops such as the recent “Focus on Marriage” simulcast conference from “Focus on the Family,” and other opportunities to strengthen your most important human relationship. If you are engaged, our senior pastor will assign you to a mentor couple for pre-marital counseling. And lastly, we provide free childcare for those all-important “date nights”! 

Little Ones

This is our weekly playgroup for moms and tots, ages newborn to kindergarten. We meet in the Kids’ Cove (the building right next door to the main church) every Thursday morning, from 9:30am to noon except for summers and other public school breaks. If you visit us on Thursday morning you will find:
  • A hot cup of coffee and hearty refreshments waiting.
  • A chance to fellowship with other young mothers.
  • Children’s chapel with songs, stories and activities.
  • A take-home craft activity for your toddler or preschooler.
  • Parenting enrichment time once/month.
  • Opportunities to bless the seniors at Sea Cliff Nursing Home for Mother’s Day and Christmas with the children’s singing and crafts.
  • Once/month “Mom’s Mornings” where you get a 2-hour break from your children while we provide on-site, free childcare in Kids’ Cove. “Mom’s Mornings” include our Thanksgiving feast, Christmas Ornament Exchange, Elijah Spa Day, Friendship Tea Party, Boundless Beach Walk, and New Life Fashion Show.
