What is a Mini-Church?

Mini-Church exists to provide direct pastoral care, leadership training, interactive ministry, and Christian fellowship for the people associated with our larger church body.

Mini-Church is a small group of people who meet together in a home, coffee shop, conference room, or even at the beach, on a weekly basis. Under the leadership of a shepherd who facilitates the meeting, people discuss what they gained from the weekend message presented by Pastor Paul Harmon. Friendships are made, encouragement is found, and growth in the Lord all happens in Mini-Church.

If the weekend services are considered the teaching or lecture time (classroom), then Mini-Church has to be considered the lab (practical application); a place where you can come and discuss the Word. If you didn’t understand something, answers can be found. If you learned something new, you can talk about how the Word applies to you personally.

What happens at a Mini-Church?

Mini-Church meets for about an hour and a half. The evening likely begins with a fellowship time with refreshments brought by members of the Mini-Church. Worship songs are usually sung, followed by a discussion based on the weekend sermon and how it applies to you personally. The evening usually concludes with a time where you can pray for each other. Trained lay people called “shepherds” lead your time together.

Prayer is an important part of Mini-Church. The Word tells us that when two or more are gathered in His Name, He is there in their midst. When a Mini-Church comes together to pray, lives change as people are supported by others who care for them.

Friendships are built in Mini-Church. There is no such thing as a lone ranger Christian. We need each other - the Word tells us this over and over. Some of your closest and longest lasting friendships will be found in Mini-Church.

You can find more specific locations and time for all Mini-Churches by looking at the “Get Connected” column on the right or contact our church office at (714) 536-1614. The same information is also located in the foyer of our church. Each Mini-Church has its own personality, so we encourage you to attend each Mini-Church until you find the right one for you. Complimentary childcare is provided for most Mini-Churches.
