Noah’s Nursery

Newborns through approximately age 1
Loving volunteers provide quality childcare for infants during the 9:00am and 11:00am Sunday morning services. We use a “Call For Care” alert system so you can rest assured that we have a way to call for you during the service. You will find us to the left of the sanctuary doors as you enter the church building. Please label your child’s diaper bag, sign them in, give blow a kiss, and rest assured that your little one will be fine while you enjoy worship just a few steps away.

Toddler Town

Approximately ages 1 through 3
Our rooms are filled with age-appropriate toys and other items which encourage imaginative, cooperative play.  You can find us in classrooms 3 and 4 of Kids’ Cove (the building to the right of the church). Our volunteers include parents, grandparents and others in the Hope Chapel family. Toddler Town is also equipped with a “Call For Care” alert system so you can rest assured we have a way to call for you if we need you during the service.  Please label your child’s diaper bag, sign them in, give a hug, and rest assured that your toddler will be just fine while you enjoy the worship and teaching next door.

Kids Cove

Preschool through 4th grade
Children’s Chapel takes place on Sundays during both worship services in the house next door to the main church building called “Kids’ Cove.”   Check-in is 5 minutes before each service in room 5 (off the back patio).  While there, your child will:

  • Have a time of opening in worship and music with our Family Life Pastor;
  • The children then split into their classes by age for the Bible lesson and Bible memory verse activity;
  • They then move through Kid’s Cove with their teacher and classmates to our Prayer/Refreshment classroom where they share their prayer requests and praise reports, and take time to pray aloud for each other;
  • Our last rotation is to the craft room where they will make a take-home craft related to the Bible story and verse of the day;
  • All the students then return to room 5 and the side (enclosed) patio where they participate in organized games and free play.

Students receive points on our Bible Buck Chart and go “shopping” with their Bible Bucks once/quarter for fun prizes.  Bible Bucks are awarded for (1) bringing their Bible to Children’s Chapel; (2) reciting the memory verse some time during the morning; and (3) bringing back their Home Bible Reading Logs every Sunday.

Other fun programs include learning music which is presented in “big church,” sitting with parents during the worship songs every 2nd Sunday of each month for Family Worship Sunday, field trips and other family activities which correlate with the lessons; and regular opportunities to participate in missions projects to our sister church, Hope Chapel Rosarito (Mexico).

Club 56

Just for 5th and 6th graders
Hope Chapel’s “tweens” are invited upstairs to “The Reach” (above the sanctuary) during the 2nd service. Committed couples rotate teaching responsibility for this energetic age-group. During the summer months, the students have interactive lessons in Creation Science. During the rest of the year, they are often taught what the grown-ups are learning in church, such as our recent Ten Commandments series. After a time of sharing and prayer for one another, the students have a Bible lesson and activity, then they are allowed to play organized games (including ping pong) in The Reach. Once per month they sit with their parents for the entire worship service, in order to help them transition in to “big church” when they are teenagers.

If your child has special educational or developmental needs, please contact our Family Life Pastor, Noelani Jai, to help us know how to better teach your child.  Particularly if your child has an Individualized Education Plan in place at his/her school, we would like to support that plan during Sunday School as well.
