Becoming an adult physically happens pretty naturally. BUT, developing maturity does not. Just because someone is an adult by age does not mean they have developed maturity. These two things are entirely different. One happens with the passing of time, while the other requires a lot on intentionality and hard work. A similar dynamic exists in our relationship with God. Just because we have been a follower of Jesus for a number of years does not equal spiritual growth and maturity. Spiritual growth requires intentionality and hard work. It does not happen to us automatically. Today, we’re going to explore how we establish our lives with spiritual growth in a way that God will bless.

Obedience to God’s Word results in blessing. This is a life that God will “Go The Extra Mile” to bless. Guaranteed! If you want a life that God will bless then you must have a commitment to follow His Word. We say this phrase all the time at Hope Chapel- “Obedience = Blessing”. It is more than some cute slogan. It is a life principle. This is how you build lives with God’s blessings. It’s not about luck. It’s about following. For the next few weeks we are going to look at areas of obedience – Biblical behaviors that define following Jesus. These are the actions we must establish in our lives if we desire God’s blessing.
